WGCD continues to support 4-H youth through their participation in the Weld County Fair as a Premier Sponsor for their 99th Annual Fair. We will be setting up our information booth in the Event Center on Wednesday, July 26th – we hope you will stop by to learn more about WGCD resources. Our Sponsorship contribution is intended to help as many youth as possible with support to those showing rabbits, poultry, dogs, sheep, goats, hogs, beef, dairy cows and horses; as well as non-livestock entries.
Janet Konkel, Coordinator of the Weld County Fair through the Extension Office tells the District: “Thank you for helping to fund a bunch of FUN STUFF! Along with being a valued Premiere Sponsor.”
That FUN STUFF includes wagon rides, inflatables and a special addition this year of walking dinosaurs that will amaze and delight fair attendees during activities through Sunday, July 30th. You can visit www.weldcountyfair.com to see the full schedule of youth and adult activities.
If you haven’t learned about the Weld Agriculture Leadership Ambassadors – WALA program, you need to check it out. These are 4-H youth ages 16-18 enrolled in 4-H Agriculture projects such as: Vet Science, Breeding or Market Livestock, Gardening, Crops, Dairy Cattle, Horses, Horseless Horse, Entomology, Wildlife, or a Self-determined project with an Ag focus. Through their service they gain communication skills that allow them to become better leaders in Agriculture education and awareness. Kudos to these outstanding senior 4-H youth!
