Where: USDA Central Plains Limited Irrigation Research Farm
The Field Day will highlight research to maximize productivity with limited irrigation water and practices for monitoring and managing limited irrigation water.
Topics will include:
-Yield expectations with reduced irrigation
-Measurement of plant water stress
-Drought tolerance among multiple corn maize varieties
-UAV-based remote sensing & irrigation scheduling via canopy temperature demonstration
-Estimating consumptive use (evapotranspiration) with deficit irrigation
Measurements to manage and document (monitor) consumptive use savings and support Alternative Ag Water Transfer Methods (including remote sensing)
