Description

Love Echinacea and want to add more color to your garden? This variety is for you, it is the only variety of Echinacea to have yellow flowers. It is similar to its purple cousin in size (20-36”) and shape. However, it has bright yellow 3′ tall flowers to bring striking contrast to your Echinacea garden.

This yellow coneflower has daisy-like petals around a brown central cone and just like its cousin if you deadhead the blooms will you enjoy continually blooming for months! Plus seedheads are a delightful treat for birds.

Echinacea is easy to grow because they do well in most situations. They take a wide array of conditions from average dry soil to medium, well-drained soil in part shade to full sun. (Plants do best in full sun.) Low maintenance and tolerates drought, humidity, heat, poor soil. You name it, these yellow cone flowers will thrive. This is due in large part to their deep taproot which makes it a welcome addition to full sun, hot, and dry areas.

To propagate, divide clumps in the spring every 4 years.

Fun Fact: The Greek word echinos means hedgehog in reference to the spiny center cone.
