4th Annual Community BBQ
West Greeley Conservation District hosted their 4th Annual Community BBQ on August 13th. The BBQ is intended to bring together district members and community members for an evening of fun and education. The event is held at Houston Gardens where the staff can give the guests a tour of the grounds and then drop them off at the big top tent to check out the booths or at the food truck! This event is open to all ages to learn about agriculture, conservation, wildlife, and natural resources. The booths included, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Natures Educators, 4 Rivers Equipment, Ward Laboratories, Greeley West FFA Petting Zoo, Sonrise Honey, Acres USA, NRCS Soil Tunnel, Central Colorado Water Conservancy, Pawnee Buttes Seed, Bayer, Weld County Weeds, Dry Rock Tree and Nursery, and Countryside Publications.
Dillard’s food truck catered dinner with pulled pork sandwiches, sides, and drinks. They estimated they served around 400 people. Even during these uncertain times of COVID, it was still a great turn out with lots of good comments and great company! We look forward to seeing all the new and all the familiar faces next year for our 5th Annual Community BBQ!
